Ancient Greece
At around 3000 BC a civilization began in Greece. Some time after 1550 BC, Mycenaean Greeks ruled. A few hundred years later, some people invaded from the North. They built different states all around Greece.
The biggest state is (and was) Athens, they invented democracy (to vote). But women, slaves, foreigners or poor people could bot vote.
In 492 BC, Persia attacked, so all the states fought Persia together. After decades, Greece won. One famous Mathematician - Pythagoras - discovered Pythagoras' theorem. The next war in Greece was between two states, Athens and Sparta in 431 BC. All the other states joined in too. It lasted 27 and finished in 404 BC. Meanwhile, in Macedonia, Alexander the Great rode with his army and conquered Greece, Persia (he had to conquer Persia twice) and some of Egypt and India. |
